Biography
Santiago Ramon y Cajal is trained as Pathologist at the Jimenez DÃaz Foundation in Madrid, and in the University of Yale. From 1990 to 2003 he worked as Pathologist at the Clinica Puerta de Hierro in Madrid, and since 2003 he has served as Chairman of the Pathology Department at Vall d Hebron Hospital and as Professor of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In 2013, he was a Visiting Profesor at McGill University and in 2014 he completed a master program in the IESE Business School. University of Navarra. PDD, for Leadership Development and Business Administration. He have published over 220 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented over 500 communications at national and international meetings. He has been the P.I of more than 30 research projects based on the identification of new oncogenic factors and new approaches in gene and molecular therapy.
Research Interest
His research mainly focuses on cellular stress in malignant cells and cancer.
